On Sept. 24, Xiaomi will be announcing the Mi MIX Alpha and Mi 9 Pro 5G flagship smartphones. The Mi 9 Pro 5G will be most powerful addition to the Mi 9 series. A fresh leak claims that it could be debuting as the cheapest 5G smartphone in China. The iQOO Pro 5G is currently most affordable 5G phone in China with a starting price of 3,998 Yuan (~$564). The new leak claims that the Mi 9 Pro 5G may come with a starting price of 3,599 Yuan (~$507).

The leaked poster that is shown below showcases the front and rear design of the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G. It states that the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage edition of the phone will be priced at 3,599 Yuan. The higher model featuring 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage will cost 3,999 Yuan. In comparison, the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant of the iQOO Pro 5G costs 3,998 Yuan in China. Readers are advised to digest the pricing leak with a grain of salt since there is no confirmation on the authenticity of the leaked poster.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G will be featuring a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with waterdrop notch. It will offer full HD+ resolution. The Snapdragon 855 mobile platform that includes an octa-core processor that clocks at 2.96GHz will be powering the smartphone. It will be arriving with a 4,000mAh battery that will carry support for 40W wired charging and 30W wireless charging.  The handset will be also supporting 10W reverse wireless charging. To maintain the internal temperature of the device, the handset will be equipped VLC liquid cooling technology.

The TENAA listing of the phone states that it will be coming in RAM options such as 6 GB, 8 GB and 12 GB. The handset is also expected to arrive in storage choices like 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. The phone may come preloaded with MIUI 11 based Android 9 Pie OS. The back panel of the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G has a 48-megapixel triple camera system. The front notch is the home for its 20-megapixel selfie shooter. The handset will come with a transverse linear motor to deliver the best haptic feedback experience.
