Ever since the US started its clampdown on Huawei‘s infrastructures in its territory, shunning its 5G infrastructure, efforts have been made to get allies to also do the same. The US is said to have contacted several countries such as Germany, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, Norway, the UK and Denmark in order to get them to shun using Huawei’s hardware for 5G. Germany is one ally whose body language shows isn’t looking to heed the US advise.huawei

According to a Reuters report, Germany has finalised rules for the build-out of 5G mobile networks and it doesn’t include snubbing China’s Huawei Technologies. This is in total disregard of the position of the United States. The rulebook dubbed security catalogue will be released later this week.

“We are not taking a pre-emptive decision to ban any actor or any company,” German government spokesman Steffen Seibert told a news conference in Berlin on Monday.

German carriers are all clients to Huawei and have warned that banning the Chinese vendor would add years of delays and billions of dollars in costs of launching 5G networks. Besides, Huawei has repeatedly denied the allegations by Washington, which has seen the company placed on the US entity list.
