Xiaomi has launched a new smartphone without much publicity but the most important aspect is the translation function. The product is dubbed Xiaomi Mijia Translator and is manufactured by one of Xiaomi’s ecological chain companies – Qingping Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. The MIJIA Translator comes with a 6-microphone array technology to achieve two-way pickup, automatically determine the direction of the speaker, and shield the left and right sides of the fuselage to make the translation more accurate. Since it is a translator, the basic function is language translation. Unlike most products in the market that deploys software algorithms alone, the 6-microphone array is a hardware arrangement designed to aid voice translation. The Mijia Translator comes with a decent 8MP camera which can be used for photo and video capture. ost importantly, the camera can be used to take pictures of things that need to be translated such as restaurant menus in a foreign language, street signs, shopping receipts, etc. This is no doubt a good one for tourist and backpackers. You get support for 18 different languages spoken by persons living in over 170 different countries across the globe.

The device features with a 4.1-inch LCD IPS display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels and a physical home button at the front. It is equipped with 1GB of RAM as well as 8GB of internal storage.
