When the science fiction film Avatar (2009) was released, it rattled the box office grossing several millions of dollars in revenue. The characters portrayed in the movie was thought to be unrealistic science-fictional characters. But in recent times, several human-looking AI characters have made the rounds. The latest is from Samsung which is set to unveil an “artificial human” under Project NEON.

The project NEON has been the subject of several teasers from the Korean giant and was expected to be unveiled at CES 2020. Thee won’t be any disappointment as a tweet from the project’s lead and some leaked trailer videos have confirmed the existence of Neon and how awesome it is going to be.

Project Neon’s lead engineer, computer-human interaction researcher Pranav Mistry tweeted an image which should be one of the project’s avatars. He also disclosed that the tech giants “Core R3” technology can now “autonomously create new expressions, new movements, new dialog (even in Hindi), completely different from the original captured data.” The technology will be demoed tomorrow at CES and we just can’t wait to see how it goes.

Furthermore, unlisted videos taken from the source code on Project Neon’s homepage revealed even more of these same human figures. The videos were originally posted on Reddit, but have now been taken down but you can check them out on the YouTube video below. The avatars look extremely real and not like computer-generated graphics.
