Basically, the onboard system will display the virtual top view of the parking lot on the central control panel, and then the user can use the touch-based control to move the vehicle to any of the virtual parking spots. After getting confirmation from the user, the vehicle will automatically be parked at the location.

The system requires multiple surround-view cameras for the system to work properly. It can be subdivided into a parking space adjustment module, a top view stitching module, a perception module, and a path planning module. The focus of this patent is to improve the intelligent interaction experience of the automatic parking system, making it easier for users to use such new functions.

A few months ago, the company had filed a patent application for a vehicle navigation method. The patent document describes the navigation method, device, system, and additionally, it is also inter-connected to the field of intelligent driving technology.

This navigation method includes retrieving images taken by multiple cameras and getting location information of the target vehicle based on the images taken by multiple cameras to generate a navigation route and push it to the user’s smartphone.

Ever since Huawei has started facing issues with the mobile business, the company has changed its strategy to focus on futuristic technologies, including next-generation communication, electric vehicles, smart cars, and more.
