Samsung‘s latest Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra has established its durability status after surviving a stress test. The test carried out by JerryRigEverything indicates a pretty solid tab. The device did not bend under excessive force even with its 14.6-inch display and minimal thickness. After going through all the paces, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra remained in one piece and largely unscathed.
The glass Super AMOLED display on the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra got to level 6 scratches on the Mohs hardness scale. The added in-display fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra still worked after intense levels of scratches with level 7 Mohs mineral picks. The sides and back of the device are made from metal.
The final test item was the bend test which has seen some models crumble under the pressure. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra exhibited minimal flexes but still retained its rigidity and remained unbroken. This is impressive for the device given its size and minimal thickness.
The rugged rating of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra adds to the hype relating to the device. The larger S Pen stylus in the device houses the same internal hardware as those in the Galaxy Note series and the S22 Ultra. A plastic spacer is however in place to fill up the larger internal structure.
