Swappable battery e-scooter manufacturer Gogoro is making inroads into the Israeli market. The company is launching its e-scooters and battery swapping platform in Tel Aviv. Gogoro recently partnered with distributor Metro Motor and Paz Group, both in Israel to deliver its electric scooters and battery swapping stations in the country.
Metro Motor is a popular two-wheeler distributor in Israel while Paz Group is an Israeli gas and energy company. Tel Aviv will be the first city to get the full complement of the Gogoro technology, but this will spread to other parts of Israel subsequently. Gogoro will be bringing its sustainable mobility solutions to the metropolitan area of the capital city in the summer, and expand to other cities. When operational, riders in Tel Aviv will enjoy the convenient and user-friendly swapping system, offering greater efficiency and shorter waiting times.
Riders will quickly swap their depleted batteries for fully charged ones within a few seconds. Gogoro is further developing new technology for its batteries deployed in swapping stations. It will be a lithium ceramic battery that could ramp up current capacity by as much as 140% up to 2.5kWh.
The Taiwanese company has a fast-expanding network of dealerships and swapping stations across Asia. The company’s network currently includes more than 10,000 battery swapping platforms spread across more than 2,000 locations. It claims to be managing over 350,000 battery swaps in a day and 275 million swaps overall.
