During the Gamescom Opening Night Live, Sony made a surprising new announcement. The company unveiled the new DualSense Edge wireless controllers for the PlayStation 5 game console.

As the name suggests, it appears that the new game controllers are the “Pro” variant of the existing DualSense controllers. This variant comes with a various improvements, with one of the major additions being the ability to customize controls, switchable stick caps, back buttons, and more. The new DualSense Edge controller has all the wireless features of the original DualSense. This includes features like haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, a built in microphone, motion controls, and others.

Furthermore, it also arrives with a braided USB Type C cable for connectivity. Although, its major updates includes customizable controls where a user can basically customize each part of their DualSense Edge and map controls to specific inputs and even tune their aim by adjusting stick sensitivity and dead zones. Apart from this, there is also the option to create multiple control profiles to let users save multiple profiles for different key mappings.

One of the best additions with the new DualSense Edge Controller is undoubtedly the modular design of the controller. This basically lets users swap stick caps to ensure comfort. Additionally players can even map controls to these swappable set of back buttons as well.
