WhatsApp is constantly working on new features that make their way to its beta builds on either iOS or Android platforms. Now, it appears that the company is working on bringing an interesting new feature for its Status section on its iOS Beta build.

The news arrives from a WABetaInfo who spotted the feature in the iOS beta update. In the report, we can see a screenshot of the feature’s interface. Looking at this image, we can see that the popular messaging platform is working on letting users post voice statuses that are up to 30 seconds long on its application. Other users will be able to see these voice statuses by the microphone icon indicator at the bottom right corner, which is similar to one would see in an individual chat or a group chat.

For those unaware, the status section typically shows a videos and images shared by the users. So now, this would be another form of interaction. As of right now, the beta build is only available for select users that had entered the beta programme. Typically, the Status updates stay on the the user’s ‘status’ for 24 hours, so we can expect a similar format for the WhatsApp Voice Status update as well.

This feature was spotted initially spotted in the Android beta app version 2.22.21.5. Similarly, the social media giant is also working on a number of features, which are currently under development. But unfortunately, we still have no idea when this feature might be arriving at the live build. So stick around for more updates regarding this matter.
