Samsung is preparing to enter the smart ring market with a product called the “Galaxy Ring,” which is expected to be launched in January 2024.
Galaxy Ring is expected to launch in January 2024 alongside Galaxy S24 series
The name “Galaxy Ring” and its January 2024 launch date were revealed during an investigation by 9To5Google into the latest Galaxy Wearable application update. The analysis of the APK files found strings indicating that the application would connect to this new device, with a pop-up message mentioning “connecting to your ring,” confirming its function in pairing with the smart ring.
In addition, users on a Korean forum noticed a new icon within the application, suggesting the design of the ring.
Samsung had registered the Galaxy Ring trademark in March. Alongside the main Galaxy Wearable application, Samsung is expected to introduce a dedicated app for the Galaxy Ring. This additional software is likely to enhance the device’s features and controls, ultimately improving the overall user experience.
Renowned tipster Ice Universe had previously suggested that the Galaxy Ring might be a highlight at the Galaxy S24 event in January. With the launch timeline now appearing to be confirmed, tech enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating more details about this innovative Samsung smart ring.
The Galaxy Ring is expected to feature ECG and PPG sensors for heart rate and temperature monitoring. It will also offer wireless connectivity for integration with Samsung’s smart home products. The pricing is expected to be relatively high, around $299.
