Dyson has announced the Solarcycle Morph Desk Light with a lifespan of up to 60 years. The light is an improved version of the Solarcycle task light released in 2019. It tracks natural daylight and morphs the kind of light it delivers depending on the time of the day. There are four modes in the Solarcycle Morph – Indirect, task, feature, and ambient. The light is designed to eliminate low light, flicker, and glare which can cause eye strain and visual fatigue.

The Dyson Solarcycle Morph desk light adjusts the light depending on the user’s age, mood, task, and the light outside. The indirect light mode sees the light’s head rotate 360 degrees to bounce light off a floor or surface. The task light shoots a pool of high-intensity light to help you get your task fully illuminated. The feature light is applied when you desire a spotlight on a small surface or material. The Ambient light sends the light down a pole stand for illumination. The MyDyson mobile app allows the user to toggle between the different light modes.

The Solarcycle Morph is a desk light and also has a floor stand in some markets. The 60-year lifespan of the Dyson Solarcycle Morph is interesting. Dyson says its heat pipe technology draws heat away from the LEDs and delivers energy-free cooling. This design, according to the company is at the heart of the 60-year lifespan for the light. The projected lifespan is however based on an average daily usage of 8 hours for the Solarcycle Morph.

The Dyson Solarcycle Morph is priced at $899 (Amazon) which is on the premium end of the price spectrum. The light is expected to arrive in Australia soon and will also berth in other markets.
