Alibaba, a big name in online shopping in China, is changing its game. The new boss, Eddie Wu, says the company is going to focus a lot on artificial intelligence (AI). They want to be the place where all sorts of businesses come for help with AI.

Alibaba is splitting into six units, including e-commerce, cloud computing & entertainment.

Wu shared this big plan at a conference where many internet big shots and government people were listening. He’s the new CEO and he’s looking to shake things up. Alibaba is known for its shopping sites like Taobao, but Wu believes AI is the future.

They’re not just talking about AI; they’re getting their hands dirty with it. Alibaba has a cloud service, like a giant digital storage space, which is now a big deal in China for AI stuff. They’ve even made their own version of ChatGPT. It’s called Tongyi Qianwen, and it’s a big step for Alibaba in the AI world.

Wu thinks that soon, AI will be a part of everything we do – at work, at home, everywhere. Alibaba wants to help businesses keep up with changes by using AI. It’s not just about being the top technology company; it’s about making things smarter and easier for everyone.
