OnePlus has recently joined hands with the App Defense Alliance (ADA), becoming the first company of its kind to enter this key security group. This move is a part of OnePlus’s commitment to keeping user data private and making their devices more secure.
The App Defense Alliance, formed by Google, ESET, Lookout, and Zimperium in November 2019, focuses on ensuring the safety of the Google Play Store. It scans apps for malware before they go live on the store. This initiative brings together the expertise and technology of these companies to better find and stop harmful apps from reaching users’ devices.
OnePlus has consistently prioritized security in its products. Their latest OnePlus 12 phone, running on OxygenOS 14, includes several top-notch security features like Device Security Engine 3.0, an improved Security Center, Strong Box for chip-level data protection, Auto Pixelate 2.0, and photo permission management. These are designed to give users all-around protection. Additionally, OnePlus’s Intelligent Shield program has been effective in identifying and blocking dangerous apps.
Kinder Liu, the head of OnePlus, emphasized that protecting user information is a crucial part of their mission. By partnering with ADA, OnePlus aims to further strengthen its efforts in making apps secure against online dangers.
