Guoguangshunneng (Shanghai) Energy Technology (GGSN), a dynamic player in the electric vehicle (EV) charging sector, is making waves with its innovative approach to mobile charging solutions by using autonomous EV charging robots.

Recognizing the increasing demand for EV charging infrastructure, especially in mainland China, GGSN aims to address the gap with its mobile charging services. As the number of EVs in China is projected to reach 30 million units by year-end, the need for efficient charging facilities is more pressing than ever. Last year alone, sales of pure battery and plug-in hybrid cars surged by 38.6%, highlighting the rapid growth of the EV market.

GGSN’s operational model offers both autonomous and manually-operated mobile charging machines, providing flexibility to cater to diverse customer preferences. The autonomous service facilitated through a user-friendly mobile app and cloud computing, ensures seamless deployment, while a non-autonomous option with staff assistance is also available.

One of the standout products offered by GGSN is the G30 entry model charger, boasting dimensions of 1.46m in length, 1.2m in height, and weighing 880kg. With a storage capacity of 70 kWh, this charger is priced competitively at $13,900 and can provide 150km of driving distance with just a 10-minute charge.

With an acute understanding of market demands, GGSN focuses on catering to commercial customers, such as shopping malls and office complexes, with its mobile charging solutions. The company’s autonomous charging robots, currently deployed in pilot programs, have garnered significant interest, with orders for around 1,000 units already received.

The Shanghai-based startup, partially owned by New World Group, is now poised for further expansion and global outreach. Discussions are underway to establish research, product development, and marketing facilities in Hong Kong, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. Moreover, GGSN is actively seeking to diversify its shareholder base to fuel its ambitious expansion plans.

To tap into international markets, GGSN is targeting regions such as the Middle East, Europe, and Southeast Asia. The company strategically conducts comprehensive market research and forges partnerships worldwide to facilitate its global endeavors.

With major investments from venture capital firms and conglomerates, including Sequoia Capital China and New World Group, GGSN is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for EV charging solutions. By focusing on office retail complexes and highway service stations, offering quicker charging services, and leveraging off-peak power tariffs, GGSN is poised to revolutionize the EV charging landscape, one mobile charge at a time.
