Since its debut on March 28, the Xiaomi SU7 has become the talk of the town, dominating conversations on social media platforms and drawing crowds of eager customers to Xiaomi Auto dealerships across the nation. What sets this frenzy apart, however, is the remarkable dedication shown by enthusiasts who have been willing to wait until 3 AM just to experience the thrill of test-driving Xiaomi’s EV.

The allure of the SU7 lies not only in its cutting-edge technology and impressive performance but also in the promise of a greener and more sustainable future. Equipped with dual motors generating a staggering 495 kW (663 hp) and powered by a high-capacity 101 kWh Qilin battery from CATL, the SU7 boasts an impressive 800 km CLTC range, setting a new standard for electric vehicles.

The sheer demand for the SU7 has taken Xiaomi by surprise, with the company reporting a staggering 88,898 orders within just 24 hours of its launch. Despite efforts to meet this overwhelming demand, Xiaomi has found itself grappling with logistical challenges, including complaints regarding pre-order cancellations and non-refundable deposits.

However, amidst these challenges, Xiaomi has remained steadfast in its commitment to delivering a premium experience to its customers. To sweeten the deal for early adopters, Xiaomi has introduced pre-order incentives, offering free upgrades valued at 34,000 yuan (approximately $4,700) for those who place orders before April 30th.

As production ramps up at Xiaomi’s new Beijing plant in partnership with BAIC, the company is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market, with plans to produce around 100,000 cars in 2024. Despite the SU7 BEV being completely sold out for 2024, Xiaomi continues to work tirelessly to fulfill deliveries, with the Standard and Max versions set to commence deliveries by the end of April, followed by the Pro edition by the end of May.
