Fairphone known for its smartphones with a higher repairability score is changing the TWS segment with repairable earbuds. Yes, you read that right. The brand has announced Fariphone Fairbuds that lets you repair seven parts if any of them stop working or get damaged. This is the first in the industry as TWS earphones are complicated to repair due to their small size, design and cost. They are also more prone to failures and OEMs prefer customers to purchase a new one instead of taking it to repairs.
Fairphone Fairbuds launched with easy repairability, could change the TWS segment
Beginning with the main USP, the Fairphone Fairbuds easy repairability means that they are built to last longer. The company says that users can easily replace seven spare parts on the TWS earphones including the earbud battery, charging case battery, charging trays, case outer shells, silicone ring, earbud tips, and also the earbud. The ability to replace the batteries inside each earbud means that they can last beyond their usual lifespan which is two to three years. Users can also order a replacement for a lost earbud instead of buying an entirely new pair.
On top of ease of repairability, Fairphone is also offering a three-year warranty on the Fairbuds. The TWS earphones costs €149 in Europe and £140 in the UK. They are available on the brand’s website and retail partners.
The Fairphone Fairbuds have an in-ear design with a hook for comfortable and a secure fit. They come in Black and White colors and are also IP54-rated sweat resistant. The TWS earphones are equipped with 11mm titanium drivers and also three microphones in each earbud for crystal clear call quality. The audio device offers active noise cancellation and also wind noise reduction. The earbuds have in-ear detection that automatically plays and pauses when they are removed from the ear. The Fairphone Fairbuds are capable of connecting to two devices simultaneously. The earbuds are claimed to offer 6 hours of playback whereas the storage and charging case is said to deliver additional 20 hours of battery.
