itel’s latest entry-level 5G smartphone, the Zeno 5G, recently landed on my desk, and I’ve spent some time exploring what this sub-Rs 10,000 phone brings to the table. Priced at Rs 9,299 (with a Rs 1,000 Amazon coupon), it seems positioned to be a no-fuss, future-ready smartphone. Here’s how my initial hands-on experience has been.
3Specifications and features (Part 2)
On the camera front, the itel Zeno 5G features a 50-megapixel (Samsung S5KJN1) rear sensor and an 8-megapixel (GalaxyCore GC08A8) front shooter, both equipped with flash. While the phone has only a single rear camera, the design gives the impression of a triple camera setup, which may mislead at first glance. I’ve taken a few quick snaps so far, and while the results in daylight are decent for the price, I’ll need to test it further in low-light conditions to get a better sense of its overall performance.

The itel Zeno 5G runs on the older Android 14, and there is no confirmation whether it will ever receive the Android 15 upgrade. The Aivana AI assistant can be used as a voice assistant to make calls, set alarms, capture screenshots, and more. It also comes with AI-powered tools like translation in Hindi, text generation, grammar checking, content summarization, content lookup, and finding related content using Content Match. Nice additions on the phone include FM radio, a 3.5mm audio jack, and an IR blaster.
