Sony’s much-anticipated WH-1000XM6 headphones have officially made their way to India, marking the debut of the brand’s latest flagship over-the-ear headphones. These are a pair of wireless noise cancelling headphones that promise improved sound quality. So here’s everything you need to know.

Sony WH-1000XM6 Wireless Headphones: What Does it Offer?

To recall, the company first unveiled the WH-1000XM6 headphones back in May 2025. Sony’s latest premium headphones arrives with the new HD Noise Canceling Processor QN3, which is seven times faster than its predecessor. The ANC system (Active Noise Cancellation) works using a twelve mic setup, which also pairs this with Adaptive NC Optimizer for different noise levels.

The Sony WH-1000XM6 are finally available in India

Sony has redesigned the driver unit on the WH-1000XM6 for improved sound quality. The brand even worked with matering engineers from Sterling Sound, Battery Studios, and Coast Mastering to tune the sound. The WH-1000XM6 arrives with a vegan leather headband and the return of the foldable design. It also offers a touch panel for controls, tactile buttons, and soft and stretchable earpads.

Other notable features include Auto Ambient Sound mode, Game EQ for shooters or Cinema 360 Reality Audio Upmix for movies, a dedicated mute button, Edge-AI and DSEE Extreme upscaling tech, LDAC support, and up to 40 hours of battery life (ANC off).

The foldable design also brings a more compact case that has a magnetic buckle. Sony just announced its top-end hearable in three color options in the Indian market, namely Black, Platinum Silver, and Midnight Blue.
