As Redmi gears up for the launch of the Redmi Note 15 5G in India on Jan. 6, 2026, a recurring question has surfaced among tech enthusiasts: are Indian consumers getting a different device compared to the global audience? Historically, Xiaomi has often tweaked specifications for different regions, but the latest reports suggest a more unified approach for its 2026 lineup.

2Comparing Chinese and global variants

While the Indian and global versions are effectively twins, the real hardware differences appear when comparing them to the original Chinese model launched in August 2025. In China, the Redmi Note 15 5G features a 50-megapixel main camera and a larger 5,800mAh battery.

In contrast, the Indian and global “108 Master Pixel Edition” comes with a higher-resolution 108-megapixel primary camera with OIS. To support the slimmer 7.35mm chassis preferred in international markets, the battery capacity has been slightly reduced to 5,520mAh, although it still supports the same 45W fast charging.
