Just when it seemed that Vivo was done with the Vivo X300 series as it gears up for the Vivo X500 series launch in September, recent reports have revealed the existence of a new X-series model called the Vivo X300e. The handset is expected to debut soon in China, and it is also likely to launch in global markets. In all likelihood, the X300e could make its global debut alongside the Vivo X Fold 6.

Interestingly, the Vivo X300e is tipped to feature the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset that powers the recently announced Vivo X300 FE. With both phones expected to target the premium flagship segment, buyers may wonder whether it is worth waiting for the X300e or picking up the X300 FE. Here’s how the two compare based on everything known so far.

2Vivo X300e vs Vivo X300 FE: Performance

Performance may end up being almost identical.

Both smartphones are expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The X300e is tipped to arrive in 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB RAM variants, paired with 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options.

The X300 FE also features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, making both devices capable of handling demanding games, AI features, and multitasking with ease.

One advantage currently confirmed for the X300 FE is Vivo’s software commitment. It ships with Android 16-based OriginOS 6 and is promised five years of Android OS updates along with seven years of security updates. There is no information yet on the software support policy for the X300e. However, being part of the X300 series, it is expected to receive the same software update commitment.
