The OnePlus 16 has arrived in China with flagship hardware, including a high-refresh-rate display, a massive battery, and upgraded cameras. However, its availability outside China remains a concern, particularly after OnePlus withdrew from the US and European markets, with no confirmed launch date for the new flagship in India.
Although OnePlus India has previously said its local operations continue as usual, buyers looking for a phone they can purchase through official channels may want to consider alternatives. Here are five flagship smartphones worth considering instead of the OnePlus 16.
4Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra features a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, making it suitable for gaming, streaming, and outdoor use. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 60W wired charging and 25W wireless charging, along with Wireless PowerShare for charging compatible accessories. Although its battery capacity is considerably lower than the OnePlus 16’s 9,000mAh unit, Samsung’s flagship offers a familiar premium experience with a focus on display quality, productivity, and software support.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra features a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. A 12-megapixel front camera handles selfies and video calls, while the rear camera system supports up to 100x digital zoom and 8K video recording at 30 frames per second.
