Xiaomi Mi TV with ultra-narrow bezels and Bluetooth-powered voice remote launched in China

As expected, Xiaomi today hosted a launch event in China where the company unveiled its all-new Mi TV models. The company has announced four models of its Mi TV, differing based on the display size — 32-inch, 43-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch.

The TV models come with a comprehensive screen design featuring ultra-narrow bezels surrounding the display. Further, the new TV units also come with a Bluetooth-powered remote control that also supports voice commands.

The new Xiaomi Mi TV models are powered by the quad-core 64-bit processor and are offering in three configurations — 1GB RAM with 4GB of onboard storage, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM with 8GB of onboard storage.

The 32-inch model comes with 1GB + 4GB configuration while the 43-inch model packs 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. The 55-inch and 65-inch models come with 2GB RAM and 8GB storage. While the 32-inch model offers HD resolution, the 43-inch model supports Full HD resolution.

On the other hand, the 55-inch and 65-inch models come with support 4K video resolution as well as 2.4GHz and 5GHz dual-band Wi-Fi. These new Mi TV units also come with Dolby Audio + DTS HD audio support.

As for connectivity, apart from the Bluetooth Low Energy (LE), the TV also supports Wi-Fi connectivity, just like every other Mi TV models. The models seem to be in line with the previous reports that claimed that the upcoming Mi TV will come with improved rear design and better remote control.

Just like every other Mi TV launched in the past couple of years, these new models also come powered by PatchWall — a custom version built on top of Android. The PatchWall user interface comes with an improved content recommendation based on the user’s interaction. Users can quickly get access to movies, series, and music while using the PatchWall.

Coming to the pricing, the 32-inch model of the new Mi TV is priced at 1,099 Yuan (approx. $164) while the 43-inch model costs 1,999 Yuan (approx. $298). The 55-model will go on sale for 2,999 Yuan (approximately $447) while the largest model with 65-inch display is priced at 3,999 Yuan (roughly $596). All the models will be available for reservations from today itself in China.
