The MIJIA Smart Socket 3 is a new Xiaomi product that can transform traditional home appliances into smart devices. The Smart Socket 3 can be remotely controlled to switch off or on the electricity supply. This is accomplished using the MIJIA app which also provides real-time power consumption details of the socket.
Xiaomi also says that the MIJIA Smart Socket 3 can also be controlled via Xiao AI speakers with voice commands. The device can also be regulated via a timer that can govern its operations. The Smart Socket 3 will be handy for a whole lot of household appliances and enhance the intelligent architecture of the home. It can be used for controlling the lighting, electric heaters, water pumping machines, and so on. It provides energy savings and optimized performance of some home appliances.
The Xiaomi MIJIA Smart Socket 3 could also enhance the lifetime of traditional switches. You don’t need to mechanically switch on and off the switch thereby reducing wear. It also provides an additional safety layer to prevent power surges that may damage your home appliance.
The Smart Socket 3 can continue to operate even with network disruption. Its countdown function can be activated with a double-click operation. Power efficiency and accuracy, according to Xiaomi, are improved by 50% for the Smart Socket 3. There are several safety features in the socket that supports 2.4G Wi-Fi connectivity.
The MIJIA Smart Socket 3 Smart Socket 3 is a low-energy device up to 10A. It cannot be used for 16A appliances like refrigerators, water heaters, and so on. Possibly, a higher model could be in the works.
The Xiaomi MIJIA Smart Socket 3 is on sale in China for 59 yuan ($9). There are no indications yet of its global availability.
