Redmi has just unveiled the Redmi Projector models which can project images up to a size of 120 inches. The new Redmi Projector comes in two options – the standard model and the Pro version. Both the Redmi Projector and Redmi Projector Pro are being offered at a hugely discounted launch price aimed to spur demand. The Redmi Projector will be available in China from October 31 across multiple channels.

The Redmi Projector is designed to excite the younger demography of the market. It is being touted as the first smart projector for young people. The Redmi Projector (standard version) comes in a black-and-white color design, while the Pro version is available in an all-black design. Both versions of the Redmi Projector are of the same dimensions (129.5 x 117 x 179.4mm) in length, width, and height respectively.

The standard Redmi projector has a storage capacity of 8GB while the Pro version gets 16GB of storage. The Pro version features omnidirectional automatic correction, automatic obstacle avoidance, screen alignment, and autofocus. It also offers a far-field voice and a brightness rating of 150ANSI, the same as the standard version. Both the standard and Pro versions of the Redmi Projector have the SGS effective luminous flux international certification. You can easily use the Redmi Projector even in a dark environment or at night.

The projector can easily project a 40 x 100-inch screen in a distance between 1.07 and 2.67 meters. It has a 1.2:1 transmittance ratio and 1080p resolution. The projector is equipped with a cooling system and has an impressive service life of about 15,000 hours. The projector features the Amlogic T950D4 quad-core CPU chip with a strong performance. A perception module is also featured in the projector as well as an image adaptive algorithm and other features that deliver a smart viewing experience.

In terms of audio, the Redmi Projector has a built-in dual-speaker system that delivers immersive audio. The far-field pickup microphone is integrated with the perception module and the anti-noise speech recognition algorithm for spotless audio. It also supports XiaoAi voice assistant and can be connected with more MIJIA products in the Xiaomi smart ecosystem. The projector can be linked to automatically turn off smart lights and curtains when viewing movies.

The Redmi Projector series are available at a discounted launch price and would revert to its original price subsequently. The standard version of the projector has a launch price of 999 yuan (~$138) while the Pro version will sell at 1,299 yuan (~$180). The products will later revert to their original prices of 1,399 yuan (~$194) and 1,599 yuan (~$221) respectively. An additional 199 yuan (~$28) is being separately charged for the storage bag.
