A couple of months ago, Xiaomi launched the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ smartphones in the global market. The brand has now debuted both of these devices in India. These are the successors of the budget range Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+ smartphones. Let’s take a look at the specifications, pricing, and availability of these devices.

The Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ present users with a 6.52-inch IPS LCD display, offering an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. The front display showcases a small waterdrop notch to accommodate the front-facing camera, while the bezels surrounding the screen are reasonably slim. With a refresh rate of 60Hz, the display delivers smooth visuals.

Redmi A2 Plus

Sporting a faux leather finish on the back, both phones exude a stylish appeal. They are available in Sea Green, Aqua Blue, and Classic Black color options. Notably, the devices come with a scratch-resistant display and a splash-resistant body, adding a layer of durability.

Dual SIM support is a notable feature of both phones, accompanied by a dedicated slot for the microSD card. The MediaTek Helio G36 SoC powers both devices, offering reliable performance. They provide up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, ensuring sufficient space for apps, media, and files.

On the rear side, the phones house a dual-camera setup, comprising an 8MP primary camera and a QVGA lens. For capturing selfies, the A2 series is equipped with a 5MP front camera.

Charging support is available at 10W, and connectivity options include a micro-USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Redmi A2 and A2+ offer a choice of Sea Green, Aqua Blue, and Classic Black color options. The Redmi A2 comes in multiple configurations, with prices starting at Rs. 6,299 for the 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant, Rs. 6,799 for the 2GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, and Rs. 7,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant.

On the other hand, the Redmi A2+ is available in a single configuration, offering 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, priced at Rs. 8,499. These devices will be conveniently available for purchase from popular platforms such as Amazon.in, Mi.com, Mi home stores, and various offline stores, starting from May 23rd. It’s worth noting that the Redmi A2 2GB RAM and 64GB storage variant will be made available at a later date.

As part of the launch offers, customers purchasing the Redmi A2 and A2+ can enjoy instant discounts when using ICICI, HDFC, and Axis Bank Credit Cards or opting for Credit Card EMI. The 2GB + 32GB variant of the Redmi A2 comes with a flat Rs. 300 instant discount, while the 4GB + 64GB variant offers a discount of Rs. 500.
