Oppo has confirmed that the Find N5 foldable smartphone will officially launch in February, and it is being touted as the world’s thinnest foldable flagship. The device is said to have a folded thickness of less than 9.2mm—comparable to two coins stacked together or four credit cards. This remarkable thinness is achieved through a newly developed 3D titanium alloy hinge, which measures just 4mm on each side. The brand has been consistently revealing key details about the Find N5 for the past few days. Today, it confirmed that the N5 will support wireless charging.
Oppo Find N5 supports 50W wireless charging

To recall, the Find N3 lacked support for wireless charging. However, the N5 will have 50W wireless charging capability, made possible by a custom ultra-thin charging coil that is only 0.18mm thick, significantly slimmer than the standard 0.3mm coils. Oppo engineers also allocated additional internal space to support rapid wireless charging without compromising the phone’s slim profile. This allows seamless compatibility with wireless charging systems in popular cars from brands like BYD, NIO, Zeekr, and others.
Oppo is yet to reveal the battery size of the Find N5. However, there have been reports that it may pack a 5,700mAh battery and offer 80W fast charging. It will debut as the world’s first foldable phone powered by the 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
The Find N5 also sets a benchmark for durability, offering IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 ratings for all-round water resistance—making it one of the most robust foldable devices on the market. Oppo’s product leads have emphasised that the foldable display’s crease control has been carefully engineered to maintain a sleek appearance and avoid degradation compared to its predecessor, the Find N3.
