Huawei has launched its latest entry-level router, the Huawei Router AX1 in the Chinese market. It delivers solid Wi-Fi 5 performance for a budget-friendly 129 yuan ($18). Let’s check out its key specs.

Huawei Router AX1 Specifications
The Huawei Router AX1 supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, delivering a combined theoretical speed of up to 1,167 Mbps. The 2.4 GHz band offers speeds of up to 300 Mbps and is optimized for extended coverage and better penetration through walls, while the 5 GHz band reaches speeds of up to 867 Mbps, providing lower latency and higher throughput for tasks such as online gaming and HD streaming. The router also features intelligent dual-band switching, allowing devices to connect to the optimal band automatically.
Huawei has equipped the AX1 with four Gigabit Ethernet ports, all of which support WAN/LAN auto-adaptation. This eliminates the need for users to manually distinguish between WAN and LAN ports during setup, ensuring a plug-and-play experience. The router’s high-gain antennas are designed to enhance signal stability while minimizing co-channel interference, delivering a more reliable connection across multiple rooms.
The AX1 runs on HarmonyOS, enabling seamless interaction with other Huawei smart devices. Users can manage the router via the Huawei Smart Life App, which provides real-time network monitoring, connectivity troubleshooting, and a Wi-Fi heatmap to visualize signal coverage. The app also offers optimization suggestions to enhance network performance.
For families, the router includes parental control features, allowing users to set internet access schedules and restrict access to certain websites. It also features guest Wi-Fi, creating a separate network for visitors without exposing the main Wi-Fi password, thus improving security.
In related news, Asus ROG recently introduced an AI-powered WiFi 7 gaming router alongside its award-winning connectivity solutions.
