JBL has launched its latest portable party speaker, the PartyBox Encore 2, in China. Available now on JD.com, it’s priced at 3,699 yuan ($510), with a limited pre-sale offer dropping it to 3,099 yuan ($427).

The Encore 2 is built to be the centerpiece of any party — indoors or out — with a punchy 100W RMS output powered by a 135mm long-throw subwoofer and two 25mm dome tweeters. It covers frequencies from 40Hz to 20kHz, meaning you’ll get deep, room-filling bass alongside crisp highs and clean mids.
Wireless performance gets an upgrade here, thanks to Bluetooth 5.4 and LE Audio support. JBL is also bringing Auracast to the table, letting users wirelessly link multiple speakers for bigger soundscapes and more immersive events.
Portability is clearly part of the Encore 2’s design DNA. At just 6.4kg, with rounded edges and a silicone handle that feels more like luggage than a speaker, it’s easy to move from the backyard to the beach. It’s also IPX4-rated, so splashes or unexpected rain won’t cut the music short.
The built-in 4722mAh battery promises up to 15 hours of playtime and takes under 3.5 hours to fully charge. JBL also includes two wireless microphones in the box, each running for up to 10 hours on a single charge. They pair instantly, with dedicated knobs to tweak volume levels on the fly, perfect for karaoke nights or live hosting.
There’s also something here for performers: a guitar input with its own gain control. And for those who still like cables, an AUX port is available on the back panel.
Design-wise, the Encore 2 doesn’t hold back. The front grille features an embossed JBL soundwave logo, and the “angel-eye” light rings can be customized via the JBL PartyBox app, letting you sync lighting effects and sound profiles to match the mood.
