Oppo began teasing the arrival of the Reno 14 series in China last week. While the brand is yet to officially confirm its launch date, Chinese tech bloggers have started sharing media invitations that they have received from the brand. It is now confirmed that the Reno 14 series will break cover on May 15 in China.
Oppo Reno 14 series launch date
The image above is one of the media invitations for the Reno 14 series that’s been shared on Weibo. It appears that the brand will also release an official confirmation of the launch date later today or tomorrow.
The lineup is expected to include two models: the Reno 14 and 14 Pro. These devices are expected to face competition from the Vivo S30 series and Honor 400 lineup, which are also expected to break cover this month in China.
Oppo Reno 14 series specifications (rumored)
A recent report revealed that the Oppo Reno 14 Pro will come equipped with the upcoming Dimensity 8450 chipset. While it is said to have the same specs as the Dimensity 8400, it is expected to bring some improvements in other departments. The Reno 14 may feature the same chipset.
Reports have revealed that the Reno 14 will feature a 6.59-inch screen, whereas the Pro edition will house a 6.83-inch display. Both LTPS OLED panels will support a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. For selfies, the Reno 14 duo is expected to feature a 50-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Reno 14’s rear camera setup is expected to include a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 telephoto camera. The Pro version is expected to feature a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto snapper instead of a regular telephoto lens. Both phones are expected to house a battery of around 6,000mAh capacity and support 80W charging.
Apart from the Reno 14 series, the brand is also expected to unveil the Enco Clip earbuds and the Dimensity G100-powered Oppo Pad SE tablet on May 15 in China.
