There is plenty of competition in the Indian mid-range smartphone market, with brands like iQOO, Motorola, and Realme actively launching new phones, all pushing performance and features at attractive prices. Honor, meanwhile, has chosen a slightly different path with the Honor X9c 5G, focusing on durability, display quality, and long-lasting battery life. Positioned as the successor to last year’s Honor X9b, the X9c isn’t a radical departure but rather a refined variant with a few targeted upgrades. Let’s take a closer look at how the phone performs across design, display, performance, and cameras.

Durability is one of the key features of the Honor X9c as it comes with SGS 5-star drop resistance certification, and Honor’s own demos have shown it surviving drops, chops, crushes, and water tests. While these extreme demonstrations aren’t something everyday users should try at home, they highlight the phone’s rugged build quality. The durability is achieved with a combination of double-layer tempered glass, an under-screen shock absorption layer, and a three-layer water resistance structure, supported by an IP65M rating for dust and water protection.

Despite packing a huge 6,600mAh battery, the X9c is impressively slim and light at just 7.98mm thickness and 189g weight. The design continues with the familiar circular “luxury watch” style camera module, which looks polished but not drastically different from the X9b. Color choices include Jade Cyan and Titanium Black, with the cyan variant especially eye-catching. The matte finish at the back resists fingerprints and smudges, ensuring the phone looks clean even after extended use. While the design evolution feels more like refinement than reinvention, the X9c still manages to stand out for balancing durability with sleek aesthetics.
