Earlier this year, Vivo unveiled the Vivo S30 series, which included the Vivo S30 and S30 Pro Mini. The latter arrived as a photography-focused affordable flagship phone with a compact design. A new leak that has surfaced on Weibo has revealed the key specifications of what appears to be the Vivo S50 Pro Mini.
Alleged Vivo S50 Pro Mini specifications tipped

The hashtag used by tipster Smart Pikachu in the above post suggests that the next S-series Vivo phone will be dubbed the Vivo S50 instead of Vivo S40, the most likely reason being that the number ‘4’ is considered a bad omen in some Asian markets, including China.
The leak reveals that an upcoming S50-series phone will feature a 6.3-inch flat display with a new aspect ratio, a Dimensity 9400 series chipset, and a triple camera unit featuring a periscope telephoto camera. The engineering prototype is said to include an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor.
The tipster has not specified the final moniker of the device. However, considering the display size, it appears to be a successor to the Vivo S30 Pro Mini. However, it remains to be seen whether it will be dubbed the Vivo S50 Pro Mini or just Vivo S50.
The reason behind this is that last year Vivo unveiled the Vivo X200 Pro Mini with a compact design featuring a 6.3-inch screen. Reports suggest that this year, there will not be a Vivo X300 Pro Mini; instead, the Vivo X300 featuring a 6.3-inch screen will succeed the X200 Pro Mini. Therefore, it is unclear whether the upcoming S50 series will have a “Pro Mini” branding.

As far as the launch is concerned, the Vivo S50 is expected to launch in November this year in China. This means the series will face competition from the likes of the Oppo Reno 15 series and the Honor 500 series, which are expected to break cover around the same time in China.
The Vivo S30 Pro Mini was rebranded as the Vivo X200 FE in markets outside of China. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether the alleged S50 Pro Mini gets rebadged as the Vivo X300 FE globally.
