A report from a South Korean publication has revealed that Samsung is preparing to mass-produce its next-generation Exynos 2600 chipset. The development is seen as an important step in Samsung’s attempt to regain ground in the premium smartphone segment after a difficult period with its semiconductor division. The chip has also been spotted in benchmark tests, suggesting performance gains over its predecessor.

The Exynos 2600 is expected to be the first mobile chip produced on Samsung’s 2nm GAA process, marking a technological milestone for the brand. Early reports point to improved yields compared to the company’s earlier 3nm efforts, with production said to be on track.

A key feature of the new platform is the introduction of Heat Pass Block technology, designed to manage overheating issues that plagued older Exynos chips. The implementation of this cooling solution could prove critical in changing perceptions about Exynos performance and stability.

As per the recent Geekbench sighting, the Exynos 2600’s prime can reach up to 3.8GHz. It has three performance cores running at up to 3.26GHz and six other cores operating at 2.76GHz.

Industry insiders suggest the Exynos 2600 is highly likely to feature in at least some Galaxy S26 models depending on market region, while others may continue with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Samsung’s dual-chip strategy would allow it to cut down reliance on Qualcomm while showcasing progress in its own silicon.

The Galaxy S26 family is expected to launch in early 2026, and the inclusion of the Exynos 2600 could play a vital role in Samsung’s effort to strengthen its semiconductor position and challenge rivals using TSMC’s 2nm technology, which will enter mass production in late 2025.
