Logitech has announced the Signature Slim Solar+ K980, a wireless keyboard that uses light as its only source of power. The device features Logitech’s Logi LightCharge technology, which allows it to recharge from sunlight or artificial light.

Once fully charged, the keyboard can continue working in complete darkness for up to four months. Logitech says the built-in rechargeable battery is designed to last up to 10 years, removing the need for replacement and manual charging.

The keyboard has a full-size layout with a number pad and scissor-switch keys that mimic the typing feel of a laptop. It supports multi-device pairing and allows users to switch between three devices using dedicated Easy-Switch keys.

Logitech also supports customization through the Logi Options+ app, where users can remap function keys, create Smart Actions, and use a dedicated AI Launch Key to open services such as Copilot, Gemini, or ChatGPT.

Logitech has also introduced a business version of the keyboard, the Signature Slim Solar+ K980 for Business. It comes with a Logi Bolt USB-C receiver for secure connectivity and supports Logitech Sync so IT teams can monitor device status and firmware updates. The business model includes the option to customize up to 23 shortcut keys to streamline workflows across large teams.

The graphite variant of the keyboard uses 70 percent certified post-consumer recycled plastic. Logitech says this choice aligns with its broader Design for Sustainability efforts, which focus on durability and reduced environmental impact.
