Rapoo has announced the VE3, a new wireless gaming headset launching in China that brings a relatively uncommon feature to the budget peripheral market: a modular, hot-swappable battery system. The headset is priced at a standard 299 yuan (around $44) and is now available on JD.com.

The headset uses removable 1,500mAh lithium battery modules, with Rapoo claiming up to 150 hours of battery life per charge. During the launch window, the company is including two battery packs in the box, allowing users to swap a depleted battery for a fresh one immediately without needing to plug the headset in. The system also supports charging while in use and includes standard temperature, overvoltage, and short-circuit protections.

For audio, the VE3 is equipped with 53mm titanium-coated polymer diaphragm drivers and a neodymium magnetic system. The internal design features an independent acoustic chamber, which is intended to reduce structural vibrations and frequency interference.

The headset operates on a dual-chip architecture, combining a low-power controller with a dedicated C-Media gaming audio chipset. According to Rapoo, this setup enables a wireless latency of 15ms. It also includes a software-based 7.1-channel surround sound mode for spatial audio in games.

The headset can connect via 2.4GHz wireless using either the included USB-C or USB-A receivers, through Bluetooth 6.0, or via a standard wired USB-C connection. This makes it compatible with PCs, laptops, mobile devices, the Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation consoles.

Physically, the VE3 weighs 315g without the detachable microphone and receiver. It is built with an adjustable headband with nine levels of extension, anodized aluminum support arms, and protein leather ear cushions featuring a hydrophobic coating. The detachable omnidirectional microphone includes environmental noise cancellation (ENC) and AI-powered voice processing to filter background noise.

The headset will be available in three color options: Mint Green, Starlight White, and Shadow Black.
