Logitech is updating one of its most popular entry-level wireless gaming mice. The company has announced the G305 X Superlight, a revamped version of the classic G305 that significantly cuts down on weight and introduces modern internal hardware, all while maintaining an accessible $79.99 price point.

Logitech G G305 X Superlight Specifications
The original G305 was heavy compared to most current gaming mice, largely because it required a disposable AA battery. The G305 X Superlight switches to a built-in rechargeable battery, which helps bring the total weight down to 59 grams. Logitech is also using exposed screws on the exterior of the mouse chassis. The company says this design choice is intended to make the mouse easier to open and repair, which should help extend its usable lifespan.

Inside, Logitech has swapped in a newer HERO sensor. It supports up to 44,000 DPI, handles acceleration over 40G, and tracks at 678 inches per second. The standard polling rate is 1,000Hz using the included USB-A receiver. If you prefer a higher polling rate for lower input latency, the mouse is compatible with Logitech’s PRO Wireless Receiver, which is sold separately and pushes the rate up to 8,000Hz.
For connectivity, the mouse supports three modes: Logitech’s proprietary 2.4GHz Lightspeed wireless, standard Bluetooth, and a wired connection via USB-C. Logitech estimates the battery will last for about 130 hours of continuous use on a full charge. It also supports fast charging, where plugging it in for two minutes provides around three and a half hours of battery life.

The rest of the feature set is standard for this price bracket. It has six programmable buttons, a standard scroll wheel, and onboard memory that can store up to five user profiles. You can adjust the DPI, button mapping, and the Lightsync RGB lighting using the Logitech G Hub desktop software.
The mouse incorporates post-consumer recycled plastic in its construction, 65% for the black model and 51% for the white model. The G305 X Superlight will be available for purchase on June 30, 2026.
In related news, Logitech has recently unveiled its first foldable portable mouse, featuring a unique design that folds in half for easier carrying and slips comfortably into a pocket when not in use.
