Asus is beefing up its affordable business and everyday laptop range with this new model. The Dawn 7S Ryzen Edition is designed for students, professionals, and anyone who wants good performance and practical features without paying a premium price.

Inside, it runs on AMD’s Ryzen AI 5 330 processor (Zen 5 architecture), a 4-core/8-thread chip with a 15-28W TDP. It includes a capable NPU (around 50 TOPS), making it ready for on-device AI tasks.

You get 16GB DDR5 RAM (expandable), a fast 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, and the platform supports up to 96GB of memory. The display is a nice 16:10 anti-glare IPS panel with 2.5K resolution and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, which is great for both productivity and casual scrolling.

At 1.87kg, it’s fairly portable. It also comes with Asus’s ExpertCool thermal system for better sustained performance, a 70Wh battery with 65W USB-C PD charging, and a full set of ports: Thunderbolt, USB-C, HDMI 2.1, multiple USB-A ports, Ethernet (RJ45), and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Other nice touches include a spill-resistant keyboard with good key travel, a fingerprint reader, AI noise cancellation for calls, low blue light certification, and MIL-STD 810H military-grade durability. It also supports modern Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

What makes this Ryzen Edition stand out in the sub-7,000 yuan range is the combination of strong storage, a high-refresh high-res screen, and excellent connectivity (especially the Ethernet port, which many slim laptops drop these days). It feels like a very practical daily driver for hybrid work, studying, or general use.

Overall, Asus has put together a well-rounded laptop that offers strong real-world usability at a competitive price. It should appeal to anyone looking for reliability and features without overspending.
