Redmi is working on a couple of new smartphones for the Chinese market. Apart from this month’s Note 17 series launch, the brand is reportedly preparing to unveil the Redmi K100 series in August. After that, Redmi may introduce the Turbo 6 series, which is expected to include the Turbo 6 and Turbo 6 Max. Back in May, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station shared what appeared to be the key details of the Max variant. Now, he is back with a new Weibo post revealing its expected launch timeframe.
Redmi Turbo 6 Max key details tipped

According to DCS’s latest Weibo post, a new Redmi performance-focused smartphone is currently slated to debut around January. While he did not explicitly mention the device’s name, the details shared suggest that he could be referring to the Redmi Turbo 6 Max.
The device is expected to feature a 7-inch 2K flat display, a Dimensity 9-series chipset, and a 10,000mAh-class battery, making it one of the largest battery-equipped performance phones in its segment.

While the tipster has not disclosed the exact chipset, he previously claimed that the device would be powered by a 3nm chip. It is also expected to feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, a metal middle frame, and IP68/IP69-rated dust and water resistance.
The Redmi Turbo 6 Max is expected to compete with the OnePlus Turbo 7, which is also rumored to launch around the same time in China. The OnePlus device is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8-series chipset. Globally, the Redmi Turbo 6 Max may get rebranded as the Poco X9 Pro Max.
