Redmi has shared new details about the upcoming Redmi Note 17 Pro ahead of its July 14 launch in China. The company has now confirmed the phone’s battery capacity, charging capabilities, and a new after-sales program that is designed to keep the battery in good condition for years after purchase.
Redmi Note 17 Pro battery and charging confirmed

The Redmi Note 17 Pro will feature a massive 9,000mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery, making it one of the largest batteries seen in its segment. The battery has received TÜV SÜD’s five-star multidimensional battery quality certification and supports 67W wired fast charging. The phone also supports 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing it to power compatible accessories and other devices when needed.
Alongside the hardware, Redmi has announced a complimentary five-year battery upgrade programme for customers who purchase the device during its first sale. If the battery health drops below 80 percent within the first four years, users will receive a free battery replacement.
If the battery health falls below 80 percent in the fifth year, Redmi says it will replace it with a higher-capacity 10,000mAh battery instead of another 9,000mAh unit, provided the service terms are met.
The other poster confirms that the Redmi Note 17 Pro has a flat display that offers a 1.5K resolution and 3500 nits of brightness under sunlight. The phone features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection and has passed SGS and CQC dual five-star drop resistance certifications after surviving a 3-metre marble drop test. Official demonstrations also showed the display remaining intact after repeated impacts from objects such as a football, nuts, and even a durian.
The Note 17 Pro also carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, along with TÜV SÜD certification for surviving 2 metres underwater for up to 72 hours. Previous teasers have revealed dual stereo speakers and a power-efficient Snapdragon 6-series chipset.
