Oppo has expanded its lineup of compact premium smartphones with the launch of the Reno 16. While it may appear to be the natural successor to the Reno 15 Pro Mini (also known as Reno 15 Pro in some markets; model numbers CPH2813/CPH2811), the two devices take different approaches to performance, cameras, and battery life. Both feature a 6.32-inch display, premium design, and flagship-inspired camera hardware, but they target different types of users.

If you’re deciding between the Oppo Reno 15 Pro Mini and the newer Reno 16, here’s how they compare.

1Design and display

At first glance, the two phones look remarkably similar. Both feature a compact 6.32-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, making them ideal for users who prefer one-handed operation without sacrificing screen quality.

The Reno 15 Pro Mini is slightly slimmer and lighter at around 187g, while the Reno 16 weighs about 193g due to its larger battery. Both offer premium build quality, metal frames, and IP69-rated dust and water resistance, although the Reno 16 carries the newer IP69K certification.

If portability is your priority, the Reno 15 Pro Mini has a slight advantage. However, the Reno 16 remains one of the most compact smartphones in its class.
