Edifier has released the R1000TC II in China, a new set of active bookshelf speakers aimed at desktop and study room setups. It is now listed on JD.com for 399 yuan ($58).

Edifier R1000TC II Specifications
From a design perspective, the R1000TC II sticks to standard bookshelf speaker conventions. The cabinets are built from medium-density fiberboard (MDF) to limit unwanted resonance, featuring a black leather-textured front baffle and wood-grain side panels.
The main active speaker measures 149 x 234 x 202.5 mm, a standard footprint for a desk. Edifier includes removable front grilles for dust protection, and the right speaker houses side-mounted physical dials for adjusting the master volume, treble, and bass.

Internally, the audio setup relies on a two-way driver design. The high frequencies are handled by 1-inch tweeters with 19-core silk-coated dome diaphragms. For the midrange and bass, the speakers use 4-inch composite paper cone drivers with a distinct yellow finish and reinforced rings to manage vibration.
The system is powered by a built-in Class D digital amplifier. It outputs 21W per channel, resulting in a total continuous output of 42W, and covers a frequency response range of 65Hz to 20kHz.
The primary changes in this second-generation model are found in its connectivity and software. The inclusion of Bluetooth 6.0 allows for simultaneous dual-device connections. For wired setups, the speakers include standard RCA line inputs and a USB sound card function for a direct digital connection to a PC.

Additionally, the R1000TC II integrates with the Edifier Connect mobile app. This gives users the ability to apply preset EQ profiles, adjust the left and right channel balance, turn off system notification sounds, and manage firmware updates directly from a smartphone.
In related news, Asus has recently launched an affordable 10W Bluetooth speaker featuring Bluetooth 6.0, TWS pairing support, and up to 10 hours of battery life.
