One of the key additions in the latest ColorOS 16 update is the ability to customize the fingerprint unlock experience. The update also adds Contact Poster preview support, making it easier to view and customize Contact Posters before assigning them for incoming calls.

The native Camera app has also received two new filters called Primrose and Bold B&W. Primrose is designed for warmer-looking images, while Bold B&W offers a monochrome style for black-and-white photography. These filters are available directly within the stock Camera app, giving users more creative options without relying on third-party apps.

The July update also adds smoother transition animations when launching and switching between apps through the Recent Tasks screen. Oppo has also improved Face Unlock by adding support for a backup face profile, allowing users to register a secondary appearance, which can be useful when wearing glasses or makeup. In addition, the update includes general system refinements, improved stability, and performance optimizations aimed at delivering a smoother day-to-day experience.

The ColorOS 16 July update is rolling out in phases for the Oppo Find X9 Ultra, Find X9s, Find X9 Pro, Find X9, Reno 15 Pro 5G, Reno 15 5G, Reno 14 Pro 5G, and Reno 14 5G. As with previous staged releases, availability may vary depending on the device model and region before reaching all eligible users.
