Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi Projector 5 in China as a new entry-level smart projector. It is priced at 999 yuan (around $148) and is now available through Xiaomi Youpin and JD.com.

The projector features an integrated metal gimbal stand with 360-degree tilt adjustment, allowing it to project onto walls or ceilings. It also comes with a textured white chassis and a custom sealed optical engine that helps keep dust away from internal components, improving durability and reducing maintenance over time.
In terms of display specs, the projector offers a native 1080p resolution, a 1.2:1 throw ratio, and support for screen sizes up to 120 inches. It delivers 400 CVIA lumens of brightness and carries SGS low blue light certification to help reduce eye strain during extended viewing sessions.
To simplify the setup process, the projector comes equipped with a ToF laser sensing module that enables automatic focus and keystone correction. It can quickly adjust the image after being moved and supports up to 20 degrees of side projection for more flexible placement.
Internally, the projector is powered by a MediaTek MT9-series processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It also includes a Bluetooth voice remote that supports voice search and playback controls for easier navigation.
For connectivity, the projector supports dual-band Wi-Fi, wireless screen casting from smartphones and PCs, and multiple ports for connecting external devices. It also integrates with Xiaomi HyperConnect, allowing users to create smart home automations with compatible Xiaomi devices such as lights and curtains.
