Xiaomi has started rolling out the first beta version of HyperOS 4, bringing improvements focused on system performance, usability and artificial intelligence. Xiaomi HyperOS 4: Performance and AI upgrades
HyperOS 4 is built around two main areas, with Xiaomi focusing on smoother everyday operation and more useful AI features. The company has added two technologies to its Xiaomi HyperCore architecture, namely load calculation and memory preloading. These changes are designed to manage system resources more efficiently and reduce the workload associated with frequently used functions.
Xiaomi has also created a new HyperOS application runtime environment. The company says optimization has been carried out across both the core system and application layers, particularly for the desktop and some frequently used applications. The changes are aimed at improving animation performance and making everyday interactions feel more responsive.
AI is another major part of HyperOS 4. Xiaomi has introduced Super XiaoAi 2.0, which integrates the company’s Xiaomi MiMo large language model. The upgraded assistant gets improved task planning and content generation capabilities, along with optimisation for scenarios involving multiple applications and devices.

Xiaomi has also showcased an unannounced wide foldable phone while demonstrating HyperOS 4’s interface across different screen formats. The device appears to have a wider inner display and dedicated software optimisation for its foldable design.
