HyperOS 4 Liquid Glass UI (Soft Light Glass)

Xiaomi has published a list of devices that are eligible to receive the new Soft Light Glass UI effect as part of the upcoming HyperOS 4 update. The list has been released for the Chinese market, but since it’s based on the chipset capabilities rather than market preference, equivalent global models should also receive the new feature.

The Soft Light Glass effect is heavily inspired by Apple’s Liquid Glass UI. Since it requires complex graphics rendering and interactive lighting effects, only select Xiaomi devices that meet the processing requirements will receive the feature with the HyperOS 4 update.

List of Xiaomi devices planned to receive the Soft Light Glass UI design

Xiaomi says the Soft Light Glass effect will not be available to all devices during the beta phase. The brand says this UI element needs further optimization; therefore, it will initially be available on devices with the Snapdragon 8 Elite or higher, the Dimensity 9500 or higher, and the Xring O1 or higher.

The good part is that the company plans to implement it on devices beyond those in the first phase of the beta rollout, including older models like the Redmi K70, Xiaomi 13, and Xiaomi MIX Flip.
