Apple isn’t expected to officially unveil its highly anticipated foldable iPhone Ultra until next month, but luxury customization brand Caviar is already showing off what the device will look like, at least what it will look like wrapped in nearly twenty thousand dollars worth of sterling silver.

Caviar Liquid Metal iPhone Ultra

Design Details

Caviar has announced Liquid Metal, a new custom chassis designed specifically for the upcoming foldable iPhone Ultra. Joining seven other pre-existing designs on the company’s roster, the Liquid Metal variant replaces the phone’s standard exterior with a custom panel crafted entirely from 925 sterling silver.

According to the company, the design is meant to evoke the look of fluid metal frozen in motion. The silver is shaped into a heavy sculptural relief and finished with a high mirror polish, creating a rippling effect across the back of the device that shifts depending on how the light hits it. The standard Apple logo has also been swapped out for a three-dimensional version, also cast in sterling silver.

Unlike many of Caviar’s previous custom jobs, which often feature excessive jewels, gold filigree, or fragments of meteorites, the Liquid Metal design relies solely on the raw material and its reflective properties. It’s a slightly more modern approach to ultra-luxury tech, leaning closer to a piece of contemporary metal sculpture than a traditional piece of jewelry.

Pricing and Availability

Naturally, this level of customization comes with an exorbitant price tag. The Liquid Metal iPhone Ultra starts at $18,840 for the base 256GB model, and Caviar is limiting production to just 17 pieces worldwide. The device ships in branded packaging that includes a signature 24K gold-plated Caviar key.

While Caviar’s renders and physical mockups give us a very clear look at the dimensions and hinge structure of the upcoming foldable, the underlying hardware remains unconfirmed by Apple. We will have to wait for Apple’s official keynote next month to see the standard, non-silver iteration of the iPhone Ultra.

In related news, Caviar has recently launched ultra-luxury Ray-Ban smart glasses featuring gold, silver, and crocodile leather finishes, alongside an ultra-luxury Galaxy Z Fold 8 collection adorned with cinematic icons and 24K gold accents.
