Xiaomi is adding a bit of extra polish to its upcoming flagship foldable just before the official launch. Lu Weibing (Xiaomi’s partner and Mobile Phone Division President) just showed off a Ceramic Special Edition of the Xiaomi 18 Fold in a soft pink finish, saying each piece features a unique color.
The special edition sticks to the same overall design as the regular version: no extra decorative flourishes. The main draw is that delicate pink ceramic finish, which gives it a soft, elegant look. The standard colors are Warm Gold White, Black, and Western Red. Design-wise, the phone has an ultra-narrow four-sided equal-bezel layout with big super-elliptical rounded corners, a racetrack-shaped Deco camera module on the back, and a completely flat wraparound frame for a clean, minimalist feel.
Xiaomi is calling the 18 Fold a new “mid-fold” form factor. Both the outer 5.38″ screen and the inner 7.58″ display use a paper-like √2:1 aspect ratio and are protected by double-layer UTG ultra-thin glass. Inside sits Xiaomi’s new Xring O3 flagship chip, which has already scored over 5.22 million points on AnTuTu. It’s also one of the first phones to use Changxin LPDDR6 memory, with bandwidth reaching up to 113.8 GB/s.
The cameras are Leica-branded. There’s a 200MP main sensor (1/1.56″), a 50MP periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide. Xiaomi is highlighting a few unique shooting modes: you can use it closed like a classic point-and-shoot with a large 4:3 viewfinder, get a real-time HD preview on the outer screen when it’s open, or treat it as a creative platform for post-production with professional software. Battery-wise, it packs a 6000mAh cell (20% silicon content, 920 Wh/L energy density) with 67W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Lu Weibing has already said the price will be over 10,000 yuan, which puts it firmly in high-end territory. The full reveal is just a few hours away: it’s scheduled for later today at 7:00 PM China time.
