Xiaomi has announced the Xring O3 chipset, and it’s a major step up from last year’s O1. It features ARM’s new C1-series cores running at higher speeds, a more powerful graphics unit, and a significantly upgraded NPU. The die size has also gotten bigger, which is higher than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
The Chinese brand has also released benchmark numbers from its own testing, and those seem to outperform every other mobile chip, including Apple’s A19 Pro and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Xring O3 is just the second smartphone chip from Xiaomi, and it’s already looking to dominate the high-end segment.
Here, we compare Xiaomi’s latest Xring O3 with Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 to find out where things stand right now.

Geekbench score
Xiaomi has published the Geekbench test result for Xring O3, and the numbers are shocking. The single-core score is 3945, which comfortably surpasses the Apple A19 Pro (3821 points) and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (3726 points). The Xring O3, in fact, also beats the desktop M4 chip.
Apple has historically dominated single-core performance in mobile devices. Qualcomm and MediaTek chips have struggled to match Apple’s mobile chips in the single-core performance, but Xiaomi’s chips might break the trend.
The Xring O3 also maintains a strong lead in the multi-core performance. As per Xiaomi’s testing, it scores 15,221, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 gets 11,402 and Apple A19 Pro struggles at 9752.

AnTuTu score
Xiaomi’s own testing says the Xring O3 has achieved an astonishing 5.22 million points in the AnTuTu v11 testing. No smartphone chips have been able to cross the 5 million mark. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 stays much lower at 3.9 million.

There’s one big caveat though: these tests were performed in Xiaomi’s lab. Brands typically use a prototype device with robust hardware and optimal conditions to get the peak numbers. But a real-device is not built for that purpose. That has dozens of background processes running all the time and may face performance throttling under heavy load, and so the benchmark numbers would match Xiaomi’s testing.
Xiaomi has just launched the Xiaomi 18 Fold and Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max with the new Xring O3 chip. It will hit the market soon. We’ll try to get our hands on the device as soon as possible, and update this post with real benchmark numbers from our testing, so you get an accurate picture.
