Honor has revealed the price of the Magic 9 just days before its September 28 launch. Li Jian, CEO of Honor, announced the pricing this afternoon as the company marked the tenth anniversary of the Magic series.
Li Jian described the Honor Magic 9 as an example of the company’s approach to trying new ideas in technology. He also presented it as a product for both new and longtime Magic series users as Honor marks a decade of the lineup.
What the Honor Magic 9 costs
There are three prices to keep in mind. Honor lists the Magic9 at 6,499 yuan (about $961), which the company calls the “lowest price in the industry.” This is likely the phone’s regular starting price. A special price marking the Magic series’ 10th anniversary brings the cost down to 5,999 yuan (about $887).
Buyers who qualify for China’s national subsidy can get the phone for 5,499 yuan (about $813). That’s 1,000 yuan (about $148) less than the regular starting price.
Where the launch stands
Honor confirmed the September 28 launch date in August shortly after its Robot Phone launch event. The company has since shared several details about the new phones.
Honor has already shown the new rear camera design and a 500mm telephoto extender. It has also confirmed the storage options and colors for the Magic 9 Pro Max, Magic 9, and Magic 9 Super Edition.
The Magic 9 lineup is expected to include some significant hardware upgrades. According to reports, the Super Edition will have a built-in active cooling fan to help maintain performance during demanding tasks. The phones are also expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor alongside Honor’s in-house H1 chip.
