Timex has launched a new analog watch in India called the Main Street Round Black Dial (TWG027900JQ). It is priced at ₹11,995 ($125) and is now available through the Timex India website. The design draws inspiration from Timex watches from the late 1970s, giving it a distinctly classic look.
Design Details
The watch features a compact silver-tone brass case. While the marketing text briefly mentions a 38mm case, the official specification sheet and product title explicitly list a 36mm diameter, which aligns with the smaller, vintage proportions the watch aims to replicate.
The case has a thickness of 13.8mm and utilizes standard mineral glass to protect the dial. The face itself is a high-contrast black analog dial designed for straightforward readability, avoiding the clutter of chronographs or hybrid smart features. The total weight of the unit sits at a relatively light 90 grams.
Internally, the TWG027900JQ operates on a standard battery-powered quartz movement. For low-light visibility, Timex has integrated its signature INDIGLO backlight technology, which illuminates the dial when activated.
The watch also features a standard date window and offers 30 meters of water resistance. This makes it suitable for everyday splashes and rain, but not for swimming or showering.
Timex ships the watch as a two-strap set. It comes fitted with an 18mm silver-tone stainless steel expansion band, which the company calls its Perfect Fit band.
The bracelet can be adjusted to fit wrist sizes from 150mm to 205mm (5.9 to 8.1 inches) without requiring special tools. The box also includes a black leather strap with a traditional buckle clasp, giving buyers another option for a more classic look.
