Hisense’s sub-brand Vidda has launched the Big Eye M2 Pro projector in China. It is priced at 5,499 yuan ($820), with a limited-time promotional price of 4,949 yuan ($738). The projector features a triple-color laser light source and an integrated 360-degree gimbal. If you have ever struggled to position a display in your living room, the built-in stand is a practical addition. It lets you point the projector directly at the ceiling or adjust the angle on a wall without needing to buy a separate mount or prop the unit up with books.

Inside, you will find a 0.47-inch DMD imaging chip. This is a step up in size from the 0.39-inch chips often found in consumer projectors in this price bracket, which Hisense says will help with heat resistance and brightness handling.

The projector is powered by the company’s QuaLas42 laser engine, providing you with a rated 1,800 CVIA lumens of brightness. You also get 110% coverage of the BT.2020 color space, a 40,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and support for both HDR10+ and HLG formats.

The optical setup includes a glass lens system with a 1.3x optical zoom and a throw ratio of 1.0:1 to 1.3:1. In practical terms, you need about 2.2 meters of distance from your wall to get a 100-inch image, and you can scale that up to 150 inches if you have 3.3 meters of space.

You won’t have to do much manual tweaking, as setup is handled automatically by a CMOS sensor that manages auto-focus, keystone correction, screen alignment, and obstacle avoidance. It also includes a safety feature that dims the laser if it detects you or someone else walking in front of the lens.

The software includes specific picture presets for your PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, alongside standard gaming monitor features like on-screen crosshairs and dark-area enhancement.

For audio, the unit features a 20W four-speaker system, two full-range drivers and two tweeters, with support for Dolby Audio and DTS:X, meaning you can likely skip plugging in an external soundbar for casual viewing.

The M2 Pro runs Vidda’s JUOS operating system, which includes a voice assistant and AI search tools for finding shows or identifying on-screen content. The projector weighs 3.5kg and is available in Moonlight White and Space Silver colorways.
